Frequently Asked Questions
How long should my hair be before waxing? For best results, hair should be approximately ¼ inch long (about the length of a grain of rice). This is typically 2-3 weeks of growth after shaving and 4-6 weeks between waxing appointments.
Does waxing hurt?Everyone’s pain tolerance is different, but most clients describe waxing as quick, manageable discomfort that gets easier with regular appointments. Consistent waxing often leads to finer hair growth and a more comfortable experience over time.
How should I prepare for my appointment?
To ensure the best results:
Arrive with clean skin free of lotions, oils, or deodorant in the treatment area.
Exfoliate gently 24–48 hours before your appointment.
Avoid retinol, tretinoin, Accutane, or other exfoliating products on the treatment area for at least 5–7 days before waxing.
Stay hydrated and avoid excessive caffeine immediately before your appointment if you’re sensitive to discomfort.
Do you offer female Brazilians only?Yes. The Wax House currently offers Brazilian waxing services for female clients only.
How often should I get waxed? Most clients schedule waxing appointments every 4–6 weeks. Maintaining a regular schedule helps keep hair growth more consistent and can make future appointments more comfortable.
Can I get waxed while on my menstrual cycle?Yes. You may still receive waxing services during your cycle. Many clients find they are more sensitive during this time, so you may experience slightly more discomfort than usual. A fresh tampon or menstrual cup is required for Brazilian services.
